More About Fallbrook Woods

Portland, ME 04103

At Fallbrook Woods, the staff strive to see the world through the eyes and senses of the person with memory loss. We focus on an individual’s interests, rituals and routines, capabilities and lifestyle preferences. Families are welcomed and encouraged to participate in life enrichment programs and attend ongoing support groups.

All staff — including those in housekeeping, maintenance and dietary — are trained in how to relate to those with memory impairment. This training includes how to engage, redirect and nurture in a positive direction.

A Life Enrichment program, specialized for those with memory impairment, runs seven days a week, and into the evening. The program focuses on enabling the resident to be and feel successful by setting reachable goals and allowing them to lend a helping hand, if they choose.
